March 26: Join hundreds of thousands to protest the cuts

Hundreds of thousands of workers, students, unemployed people, community activists – everyone – will be shutting down London on 26 March for a truly huge demonstration.

The TUC’s ‘March for the Alternative’ will certainly be of epic proportions, and it’s extremely important that YOU attend with all your friends. Ideally you should bring your whole class, your teacher or lecturer, your whole department out on this protest.

An education meet-up point has been arranged for 10am at the University of London Union on Malet Street.

So how can we turn this march into a game changer for the anti-cuts movement? Well the first step is to make it absolutely huge, and mobilise as many young people as possible to come along. Here’s how:

  • Join our facebook event
  • Ask your student union if they have coaches booked to go to the protest, if not, ask them why not!
  • Write a letter to your student newspaper, telling them why you are going on the march, and why everyone else should do too.
  • Ask your student union to use every resource available to build the maximum turn-out: posters, student radio, TV screens, loudspeakers, mass emailouts, public meetings. Ask them to hang an absolutely huge banner from the student union building.
  • Call for a volunteers meeting to help build the demonstration, via your student union or anti-cuts group if possible. Organise lecture shout-outs, leaflettings, a party, stunts. If you know someone skilled in video editing, get them to make a mobilising video
  • Set up a Facebook group called something like: “University of ….. students go to March 26 protest!”

Remember all the deceit and lies we was told at the final televised electoral debate. Here is the evidence that we have all been conned and taken for a ride. Please listen and decide for yourselves.

March 26th – Day of Rage; not just against the government but also against spineless trades union leaders such as Dave Prentice of UNISON,; still bankrolling the Labour Party even though the LP supports the cuts! Across Europe workers are being stripped of jobs, living wages, pensions (which are deferred wages) and social services. The rich – such as most of the government cabinet – feel nothing; they can afford private hospitals, private carers and so on. The only cut on their agenda is a cut in income tax for the wealthy.
In Greece, the most battered of the eurozone states the whole of the state is now up for sale, probably at knockdown prices. Nothing less will satisfy the rapacious appitites of the ‘market forces’ – capitalism – being orchestrated by the German government. Youth unemployment has reached 39%, disaster capitalism is rampent.
The lesson is clear, defend everything, or watch while all the gains of workers since WW2 are stripped away.

  6. Steve Newman says:

Revolution is in the air.Let the turncoat Clegg see how we feel about the cuts. Its time to fight back.

  7. mikki says:

Another very good way to protest against these cuts is to hit the Government & banks where it hurts. If all the people protesting withdrew all their funds from their accounts for the weekend (or the preferred long term) this government would have to listen to us. They wouldn’t expect this action along with the protest but the effects of a mass withdrawl will have a great impact.

  8. Ade says:

The Government needs to see that the people of the UK have had enough of the cover ups and lies.

People today are more educated and have access to more resources than ever before. It is not so easy to cover things up with propaganda and lies anymore.

Lets hope that we get a million people protesting on the 26th in London, I among many, will be interested in the Governments response to the protest.

Just don’t believe the BBCs reporting on it ;)

Enjoyed looking at your website, really good idea, no amount of protests seem to move the powers that be aka mr cameron or mr clegg!into positive action. Personally its a clear case of rich poor divide in todays society!Vince cable said after the weekends problems in london no amount of violence would sway the governments actions one way or the other!summing up the normals persons problems 1 rule for the rich another for the poor!Sums up the lobsideness of the country perfectly!

Hi all , I love freedom of speech and believe everyone has a right to protest if your unhappy with the current monetary economic system we live in. But… I am scared to think what might happen in near future regarding the prophecy of the second comming. Anarchy is spreading around the world slowly and I think it could be quite possible that either A: The second comming happens ie: Jesus walks the earth again, B: Rapture happens and Satin walks the earth or C: the world comes to a cataclismic end due to poverty, violence and disease. All this destruction around the world is beginning to sound like 2012 is gonna happen in a big way. Just remember I don’t think it will happen but fuck me! what if it does? Btw I’m not religious but I’m scared of knowing that there is a God out there and he or she or it knows everything Ive ever fucking done and Im gonna pay for it big time.

Oh and yes Power to the People!
